Open Microsoft Excel on your computer. Create a new spreadsheet or open an existing one where you want to add the checklist. Decide on the layout for your checklist. You can choose to have the checklist items listed vertically in a single column or horizontally in a row. Word will automatically convert the selected text into a checklist format with checkboxes or bullet points.
